I started by learning how to give my own parrots a better life. Egypt Parrot Supplies grew from there.
This started with my own parrots.
I did not set out to open a pet shop. I was a regular parrot hobbyist in Egypt trying to take better care of my own birds.
I kept reading about nutrition, behaviour, enrichment and everyday care because I wanted to understand what my birds actually needed. A lot of the information I found locally was either unclear, copied from somewhere else or based on whatever a shop happened to sell.
I started sharing what I was learning
As I learned more, I started making content for other parrot owners. I wanted people to understand their birds better and avoid mistakes I had seen or made myself.
Then the questions started coming. People wanted to know what to feed, which products to trust, where to find someone who could groom or train a bird properly and what to do when the usual pet-shop advice was not enough.
The messages changed the direction
That was when I realised content alone was not enough. Parrot owners in Egypt needed access to better products and people who actually understood birds.
Egypt Parrot Supplies grew from there. I took what I had learned as an owner and content creator and started using it to provide products, boarding, grooming, training, consultations and responsible adoption support.
How I choose what goes on the website
I do not assume an imported product is better just because it came from abroad. I also do not choose an Egyptian product simply because it is cheaper or easier to get.
I choose the option I think works best for the bird. Sometimes that means importing a respected international product. Other times an Egyptian-made or organic product is better suited to our environment and the birds living in it.
The custom engraved rings, DNA testing and grooming are handled through people I trust. The same applies to locally made toys, stands, seed mixes and other Egyptian products. I care about who made it, what it is made from and whether it does the job properly.
The standard is the same one I use for my birds
If I would not use it, trust it or recommend it for my own birds, I do not want it on this website.
I am still learning and I expect that to continue. When I learn something better, I change what I do. The point of the business is the same as the reason I started reading in the first place: to give my birds a better life and help other owners do the same.
