Prepare fresh sprouts for a varied parrot diet

A selected blend of seeds, grains and legumes designed for sprouting. When prepared hygienically, sprouts add texture and variety to a balanced parrot feeding plan and can be offered to parrots of different sizes.

How to sprout

1. Rinse the portion thoroughly using clean water and clean equipment.
2. Soak for up to 24 hours, then drain completely.
3. Place in a clean strainer or sprouting container.
4. Rinse and drain thoroughly three times daily for about three days, until sprouts appear.
5. Refrigerate after sprouting and use within 3–5 days.

For maximum freshness: prepare only a small portion at a time. The pack guidance suggests about one-eighth of the bag for one parrot.

Food-safety guidance

Good drainage and hygiene are essential in Egypt's warm climate. Never leave the mix sitting in water after soaking. Discard immediately if it becomes slimy, develops mould, smells sour or shows any other sign of spoilage. Rinse the finished sprouts before serving and remove leftovers promptly.

This is a complementary fresh food, not a complete diet. Always provide fresh drinking water.

بالعربي: خليط مختار من الحبوب والبذور والبقوليات مخصص للإنبات. يُغسل جيداً، يُنقع، ثم يُصفّى ويُشطف ثلاث مرات يومياً حتى ظهور البراعم. النظافة والتصفية الجيدة ضروريان؛ تخلّص من الخليط فوراً إذا ظهرت رائحة حامضة أو لزوجة أو عفن.
